Last weekend, I traveled to Boston to cheer on my good friend M in her first Boston Marathon.  Running Boston is a big deal because unless you are running for a charity, runners have to run a marathon in a certain time, determined according to their age (qualifying times here). M qualified in 2010 with a great time.

This year was exceptionally warm at the marathon (like 87deg!!). Before the race, the directors made several announcements urging the runners to be especially careful and to go slower than normal, in order to keep everyone safe. Despite the heat (and hills), M did an amazing job!  I was so happy to see her at miles 6 and 17, and after the finish.

Congrats, M!! You are my inspiration!
