eat and run

Yesterday, J and I had lunch from the farmers’ market that comes to our campus every Thursday.  I had half of a turkey panini and a chorizo empanada.  Delicious!!  Then, after picking up Jillian from daycare, we walked around the harbor.  It was a beautiful evening – warm with a slight breeze.  We enjoyed spending time together as a family.  I ate a lamb gyro and fries from a local spot.  It tasted great!!

Turns out that eating delicious, great, and… greasy food does not agree with me.  My run this morning was horrible.  I barely had any energy.  That food was good going down, but didn’t provide healthy calories.  We normally eat very well, and yesterday was a reminder why eating healthy is so important.  I need good fat and calories to fuel my workouts.

I have to eat extra well over the next two days since I am running a half-marathon on Sunday.  I hope to get a personal record, and run my best race ever.  But, no pressure or anything… 🙂
